I just sent in my request to borrow Healey Willan's Missa Brevis No. 2 in F minor. His little masses are quite nice. His works may be borrowed, rented or purchased through the Canadian Music Center. I haven't used their services in the past, though I'll let you know how that goes.
I always think that'd be a great name for a classic Briish sports car. Yes, I can see myself driving a 2 litre Healey Willan convertible!
ReplyDeleteI've sung a Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis by him. Not unpleasant but not terribly memorable.
I agree. He's a conservative blend. Though, for a small, inexperienced choir, some of his things work well.
